Tracking Debts and Payment Plans

Debt feels lighter when you can see it shrinking. Budgett tracks every loan, card, and installment month by month, so you always know what's left.

๐Ÿ’กWhere Debts Live

Each kind of debt has a home. Debts is for any money you owe: a loan app, a bank, or a person. Credit cards is for your cards. Transport has the Auto & Vehicle Loan Manager. House has the Housing Loan Manager. Each one has a Debt Payment Tracker.

๐ŸŽฏTwo Kinds of Debt

  • Installment Plan: the same amount every month for a set number of months, like a bank loan or a loan app. Enter the borrowed amount, the monthly amount, and the first and last due months. Tick it Paid each month and watch the progress bar fill.
  • Revolving Balance: a debt with no fixed schedule, like money owed to a relative. Type how much you owe, then log what you pay. The balance goes down by itself.

๐Ÿ”—Connect It to a Bill

Connect a tracker to a monthly bill and Budgett reminds you before each due date. When you tick the bill paid, the tracker moves too. Budgett can even add the bill for you. Basic connects 2 trackers to bills, Plus 8, and Pro has no limit.

๐Ÿ’ณCredit Cards Without Counting Twice

  • If you log card purchases when you swipe, they already count as spending.
  • So when you pay the card's bill next month, tick Don't count as spending. The money still leaves your account, but your spending isn't counted twice.
  • Paying the card right away with cash you set aside? Leave it unticked. It's a normal expense.
  • Interest and fees are new spending. Track them on their own.

๐ŸฆWhen You Borrow Money

Log a new loan as income with Loan received (not income) ticked, or tap + at the bottom and pick Loan. The money lands in your account but doesn't count as income. Budgett then asks which debt to add it to, so you start tracking it from day one.

๐Ÿ“ŠSeeing the Whole Picture

  • Debt Summary (Plus and Pro): every debt in one place, with what's left to pay this month.
  • Net Worth: connect your tracked debts so your net worth always shows what you really owe (Plus connects 2 categories, Pro no limit).

Pay off the smallest debt first while paying the minimum on the rest. Each debt you finish frees up money for the next one, and the wins keep you going.

Try this now

Pick one debt you're paying right now. Open its category, add it to the Debt Payment Tracker, and connect it to its bill. Next month, you'll see the first tick on the progress bar.
