Where I started

I started my career in a call center in Cebu in 2010. In 2018, I resigned to work online, and I've been a remote worker ever since. Today, I work as a Head of Operations. I graduated in Public Administration and earned my MBA at the University of Cebu, but my degrees didn't help me land a client online. I had to learn by doing.

The problem

I was bad at budgeting. I lost track of my income and got buried in debt. Money controlled me. I was always worried about going over budget, and I kept checking my calculator just to feel safe.

So I started tracking my money. But it got messy fast. I used Calendar for bill reminders, Google Keep for my list of bills, Google Sheets for my expenses, and a calculator for quick math. When AI came along, I used it to track my net worth and plan my progress. Then I hit token limits, and the AI kept forgetting my history from the last session.

I tried a few budgeting apps, both free and paid. None of them fit the life of a remote worker with changing income and many bills.

So I asked myself: why not build one app that brings my whole financial life into one place?

Building Budgett

I'm not a programmer. I had no coding background. But working with developers as Head of Operations taught me how to plan workflows and simplify complex things. With AI as my partner, I started building Budgett in July 2026.

I built it during breaks, after work, and on many weekends. That first month of laying the foundation was one of the hardest seasons of my life. I lacked sleep while being a family man, serving in church, and staying active in Toastmasters. But I kept going, because I badly needed this app myself.

Sharing it

Budgett was only meant for me. But when I shared it with fellow remote workers, they got excited. They were struggling to find a good budgeting app too. That's when I knew this wasn't just my problem.

My life today

Today, budgeting is easy, and I have far less stress. Money no longer fills my mind all day, so I can focus on my work, my family, and serving my community. Everything is budgeted before my income even arrives. All I need is a quick look at Budgett to see where my money is going.

Where we're going

My goal is to help Filipinos, and people around the world, simplify their financial life. I want Budgett to help you build money discipline, grow your emergency fund, invest, and one day reach financial freedom.
