Credit Cards in Budgett
Swipe today, pay next month. Budgett follows your card the same way: it builds next month's card bill as you swipe, and never counts your spending twice.
Paying With a Card
- When you log an expense, pick your card under Account (or Paying Account). It counts as spending today, in the right category.
- A box shows: Add to my [card] bill next month. It starts ticked, so next month's card bill grows by itself.
- Card has no due date yet? Budgett makes its bill for you, due on the 1st of next month with a reminder, and shows you where to change the date.
- Bills you pay with a card, like a streaming service, are added to the card's bill too.
Paying the Card Bill
- When you pay the card bill, tick Don't count as spending. Your purchases were already counted when you swiped, so they won't count twice.
- Budgett remembers your choice for that card next month.
- Paid the card right away with cash you set aside? Leave it unticked. It's a normal expense.
- Interest and fees are new spending. Change the bill's amount to include them.
Credit Card Filters
- Inside the Credit Cards category, Credit Card Filters show every purchase made with one card, from any category, plus that card's payments.
- Plus: your first 2 cards, this month and the last 2. Pro: every card, the last 12 months.
Installments and Debt
Paying an appliance or gadget on installment? Add it to the card's Debt Payment Tracker and watch it shrink month by month. Basic tracks 1 card, Plus 3, and Pro has no limit.
For now, Budgett uses the end of the month as every card's cut-off. Purchases this month go to next month's bill.
Log your next card purchase with your card as the account, and check that Add to my card bill next month is ticked.
