How Budgett XP and Ranking works

XP turns good money habits into a friendly race. It's a fun way to see your progress and compare with other Budgetters. The ones who climb highest aren't the fastest. They're the ones who keep showing up.

πŸ’‘What XP Is For

XP rewards the small habits that quietly change your finances: paying bills on time, logging your income consistently, tracking your expenses carefully, and saving every month. Nobody gets rich in a week. But a Budgetter who keeps showing up month after month builds real discipline, and XP is how you watch that happen.

⭐The Main Ways to Earn XP

  • Log an expense β†’ +3 XP (3 a day, up to 200 XP a month)
  • Log income (β‚±500 or more) β†’ +10 XP (up to 6 a month)
  • Pay a bill on or before its due date β†’ +5 XP. Late still counts: +2 XP
  • Pay a loan bill on time β†’ extra bonus XP, depending on the loan's length. Add your debts to your Bill List so they count. The loan bonus needs a Debt Payment Tracker connected to the bill.
  • Budget well β†’ up to 100 XP a month from 7 budgeting habits. See How Budgeting Earns XP
  • Save, shop for groceries, update your Net Worth, and reach milestones β†’ see the full list in Every Way to Earn XP

πŸ€”Why Didn't I Get XP?

  • Small amounts don't earn XP. Expenses need to be β‚±20 or more, income β‚±500 or more, and bills β‚±99 or more.
  • Same amount, same category, within 24 hours. Only the first one earns XP.
  • You reached a limit: 3 expenses a day (plus make-ups from your grace period), 200 XP from expenses a month, 6 incomes a month, or 20 bills a month.
  • You deleted it. Deleting an entry also takes back the XP it earned.
  • When an entry doesn't earn XP, a short "No XP" note under it tells you why.

Don't worry. Your entry is always saved, even when it doesn't earn XP. Your budget stays accurate either way. XP is just the bonus on top.

🌱Missed a Day? Use Your Grace Period

  • Every day gives you 3 expense logs that earn XP.
  • Missed a day? You can make it up later in the same month. Up to 5 missed days each month can be made up.
  • Example: you missed Monday. On Tuesday, up to 6 expenses earn XP.
  • Days missed beyond 5 are lost XP days. Your grace period resets on the 1st of every month.
  • A day runs midnight to midnight, Philippine time.

πŸ“ˆThe Rank Ladder

As XP adds up, you move through ranks: Novice (0) β†’ Initiate (500) β†’ Apprentice (1,000) β†’ Planner (2,500) β†’ Builder (5,000) β†’ Protector (12,000) β†’ Strategist (20,000) β†’ Grower (30,000) β†’ Fortress (40,000) β†’ Sovereign (50,000). Each one reflects how long you've genuinely been showing up for your own finances. Your trophy grows with you: bronze for Novice and Initiate, silver for Apprentice and Planner, then gold from Builder up, with a new ornament at every rank. At Sovereign, you pick a King crown or a Queen tiara.

⚠️ Sovereign Takes Time, On Purpose

Reaching the top rank takes 50,000 Lifetime XP. That's about 9 years of steady habits. Real financial discipline isn't built in a weekend, and your rank is designed to honor that.

πŸ”Two Kinds of XP

  • Season XP starts fresh every 3 months (Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep, Oct–Dec) and shows how you've been doing lately.
  • Lifetime XP never resets. It's your full, permanent record, and it's what your rank is based on.

πŸ“ŠYour XP Report

  • Find it in Profile β†’ XP Report. It shows where your XP came from, ranked from your strongest habit down.
  • Monthly report: we notify you on the 1st of every month.
  • Bigger reports take over on April 1 (January to March), July 1 (6 months), October 1 (9 months), and January 1 (the full year).

There's nothing to buy. The only way up is real, steady habits. Log what's real, pay on time, and enjoy the climb.
